    • Survivair – 1830-2100hrs at D-Coy Armouries – Civilian Attire
  • Saturday Feb 18, 2023
    • Stage II Zone Marksmanship Competition (Marksmanship Team Only) – Hosted at the D-Coy Armouries. Please be there for 0830hrs haven eaten breakfast (no caffeine or sugar!! makes ya miss shots). Lunch will be provided. 
  • Sunday Feb 19, 2023
    • NO Drill or Band or Long weekend
  • Monday Feb 20, 2023 – NO Marksmanship, post competition break/ Family Day
  • Tuesday Feb 21, 2023 – Regular Training Night – 1830-2130hrs at D-Coy Armouries. Dress will be FTU. FTU Order of Dress

  • Apr 14-16 Marksmanship Provincials – Marksmanship Cadets (dependent on zones)

  • May 19-22 Spring Field Training Exercise – ALL CADETS (This is May long weekend)
  • June 10th ACR (Annual Cadet Review – FINAL Parade of the year – Mandatory for all cadets)

  • Purdys Chocolate Fundraiser is officially open! Just in time for Easter. The goal is to have every thing back and ready for pickup April 4th https://fundraising.purdys.com/1709551-104487 
  • Every first Tuesday of the month is a Parent/ SSC Board Meeting @ 630pm at the Armouries.
  • June 6, 2023 is the Annual General Meeting held at the D-Coy from 630-730pm, all parents are welcome and encouraged to attend as many large decision will be made and gives you a more detailed look at how the SSC provides many opportunities to our cadets.

 

GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS:

  • Summer Training Applications
  • Ground School Cadets: please ensure you return your loaned copy of From The Ground Up to Capt Lynch. Ensure that your signature is noted that you have returned the book. 
  • TECH TALKS – online episodes to interact with CAF members from across the country and from different profession in the military. Cadets can login using their Cadet365 accounts and attend the interactive online presentations to introduce cadets to various trades. See calendar attached for a schedule of talks and the join links TECHTALKS (MUST BE ON YOUR CADET365 ACCOUNTS)

THIS WEEK:

  • Thursday Feb 9, 2023 –
    • Survivair – 1830-2100hrs at D-Coy Armouries – Civilian Attire
  • Sunday Feb 12, 2023
    • Drill Team – 1300-1500hrs at D-Coy Armouries, Civilian attire
    • Band Rehearsal – 1500-1700hrs at D-Coy Armouries, Civilian attire
  • Monday Feb 13, 2023 – Marksmanship practice 1800-2000hrs at D-Coy in civilian attire. Last practice before zones. 
  • Tuesday Feb 14, 2023 – Squadron Sports Night – 1830-2130hrs at the Eastlink Centre. Cadets will be given the option of either using the Field house or the Pool (they can switch if they like). We will be meeting at the West entrance (pool entrance). Make sure you have all the gear you may need to participate (sports wear, swimwear, towels, water bottle, lock for your stuff, etc..)  
  • Saturday Feb 18, 2023 – Zone Marksmanship Competition (Marksmanship team only) – held at D-Coy Armouries. Timings and details to come soon (plan for a full day roughly 0800-1600hrs, lunch will be provided)

  • Friday Jan 27, 2023 – 
    • Band cadets attending the music clinics in Edmonton please see the attached itinerary for this weekend. Brief details below
    • Departing from the D-Coy Armouries @ 1230hrs, please be there for 1145hrs (ensure all require kit is with you). Return is for Jan 29th @ roughly 2100hrs
    • Music Clinic – Kit list and Travel timelines

    • Drill Team – NO Drill practice
    • Band Rehearsal – NO band – Music Clinic Cadets return

GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS:

  • Supply reminds all cadets that if you borrow uniform parts for the evening to return them.
  • ALWAYS check these announcements first before contacting squadron email/phone or
  • If you are reporting an absence, please text the squadron number at 780-538-3610, it is easier for the administration team to manage those messages as the phone is not actively monitored throughout the week. You may still call the number and leave a message however, but these are the only accepted methods to excuse an absence.
  • If you are a parent interested in becoming a screened volunteer for events like bottle drives and fundraisers, please reach out to the squadron email to get that process started.
  • Please find links to our Public Facebook page and Private Group (Group is for current squadron cadets and parents only). We use these groups to share photos and other stuff like that. Official announcements are still made to this website first and foremost.
