Welcome Back for the 2026-2027 Training Year!

Good day, 577!

It is that time of year again—the 577 RCACS training year for 2026–2027 is about to commence!

📋 Annual Validation & Registration Night

• When: September 1st, 2026 | 18:30 – 21:00 (6:30 PM – 9:00 PM)

• Who: All returning cadets and at least one parent/guardian

During this evening, returning cadets and parents must attend to complete annual paperwork, update personal information, renew health questionnaires, and exchange uniform pieces. Cadets are free to leave once their paperwork is completed, as there will be no regular training this night.

Note for Senior Cadets: Senior cadets (including those advancing to Level 4) are requested to remain for approximately 30 minutes following registration for briefings and to review expectations. Exact timings will be communicated closer to the date.

📥 Returning Uniforms

If your cadet will not be returning to the squadron this year, please bring their complete uniform back on September 1st and inform unit staff so we can close out their file.

🎯 Recruitment Night

September 1st is also our New Cadet Recruitment Night! Please spread the word to family and friends about our program and encourage interested youth to attend.

🗓️ Looking Ahead

• First Official Night of Training: September 8th, starting at 18:30.

• Squadron Calendar: Yearly activities and optional evening programs will be added gradually as details and dates are confirmed.

Announcements: Week of June 9, 2026

This week: 

• Sat – 13 June 2026
  • ACR – Tara Event Centre, Evergreen Park
    • Cadets arrive NLT 0800hrs in civilian attire
      • Eat breakfast before arriving, lunch will be provided.
      • Bring EVERY piece of their blue dress uniforms (C1).
    • Doors open to guests at 1145hrs. Guests are to be seated by 1200hrs, and parade starts at 1230hrs.
    • If you cannot attend ACR, please call or text the squadron line in advance!
• Sun – 14 June 2026
  • Band – 1700-1900hrs
    • End of the year party! Bring snacks, bring board games, chill and have fun!
    • Cadets using squadron loaned instruments need to return them by June 16th, or discuss with CI Elliott if they are required over the summer for courses.
    • **BAND CADETS ONLY*** ACR timings:
      • Wed, June 10 – 2850 ACR at D-Coy Armouries – 1830hrs in C1s
      • For 2850 Band Cadets – June 13 at Tara Center in Evergeen, NLT 1115hrs
  • Gliding – CANCELLED due to unforeseen circumstances.
• Drill and Air Crew Survival are now done for the year.
• Tue – 16 June 2026
  • Year end BBQ for cadets and immediate families.
  • Please label all ingredients. ALL DISHES MUST BE PEANUT FREE.
  • By last name:
    • A-L – Desserts
    • M-Z – Sides and Salads
  • Dress will be civilian attire.
  • Bring water fun toys for the water fight!

Parent/SSC Board Meeting @ 630pm in the DCoy on the second Tuesday of every month.
Next meeting with be in September!

REMINDERS:

• • Please ensure any absences are sent by Text/SMS to the squadron number – 780-538-3610 via the Admin line (Ext 0), the training line is for training specific questions not attendance. Emailed absences will not be accepted!
  • Parents you are highly encouraged to come into the armouries during closing announcements/parade. That way you can hear all the information directly! We normally start them around 9:15pm.
  • If any of your personal information has changed (address, phone number, etc) please inform the Admin Office so that we can update files

    • Theme: Pride!
    • Cadets using squadron loaned instruments need to return them by June 16th, or discuss with CI Elliott if they are required over the summer for courses.
    • **BAND CADETS ONLY*** ACR timings:
      • Sat, June 6 – Practice ACR – 1300-1500hrs in FTUs
      • Wed, June 10 – 2850 ACR – 1830hrs in C1s
      • 2850 Cadets – June 13 at Tara Center in Evergeen, NLT 1115hrs
  • Gliding – 1500-2000hrs joining instructions will be sent directly to cadets confirmed attending.
• Drill and Air Crew Survival are now done for the year.
• Tue – 9 June 2026
  • Regular Training – Final ACR practice
  • Dress will be C5’s Orders of Dress Reference Guide

GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS:

• Power Fam Flights will be continued to be offered, but likely on short notice with aircraft and staffing availability.
