WEEK OF JANUARY 28, 2020

This Week:

  • Thursday Jan 30
    • Survivair 1800-2000hrs, Please be prepared to go outside (dress for the weather)
  • Friday Jan 31
    • Drones  1900-2100hrs
  • Saturday Feb 1
    • STARS Hangar Dance Coat Check, for the cadets that signed up please be at the TARA Centre in Evergreen Park for 1700hrs in full dress uniform. You will see a staff member there as well as signs for the Hangar Dance. You will be fed and will be there from 1700-2200hrs
  • Sunday Feb 2
    • STARS Hangar Dance Cleanup  0930-1230hrs @ TARA Centre in civilian attire (you’ll be moving around and carrying things dress comfortably). The end time may change depending on how long it takes to clean up. Meaning the more cadets we have to help the faster it goes, so please come and help you didn’t have to signup to help just come at the times listed.

general announcements:

  • Reminder that the syndicate groups that revolve around our points system have been slightly altered, so please take a look at the list posted on the points board in the armouries.
  • As mentioned last night the reward for top group of December and January will get the opportunity to go indoor rock climbing on Saturday Feb 8 from 1230-1430hrs at the Grande Prairie Regional College Climbing Gym. Group H from December was changed in the recent changes to the groups but the cadets who were in the group at the time of winning will be the ones going. January’s winner will be announced on Tuesday and will also get to attend this event. Waivers and more specific details will be handed out on Tuesday. If you have concerns please talk to OCdt Trepanier.

General announcements:

  • STARS Hangar Dance Coat Check will be on Feb 1st in the later evening (typically 5 to midnight but timings will be confirmed soon) A signup sheet is in the armouries and we would like to see F/Cpl’s and above for this
  • STARS Hangar Dance Event Tear Down will be Feb 2nd in the morning to help clean and take down the event venue for STARS. A signup sheet will be in the armouries next week and will have the timings for that.

WEEK OF DECEMBER 17, 2019

This Week:

Friday Dec 20

  • International Papers X-mas Party Coat check – Seniors that signed up please be at the Pomeroy Hotel & Conference Centre (next to the mall) for 1700hrs and will be finished at midnight, in full uniform.

General Announcements:

  • We have a bottle drive on Jan 4, 2020 and need as many cadets and parents helping as possible. We will be meeting at the armouries for 0900hrs and should be finished by 1600hrs. We ask that you bring a lunch and dress in layers for the weather. If the temperature is -20 or below the event will be cancelled. A reminder will be sent out a few days prior.

 

With exception to the events above there is no more training this year. Training will resume on Jan 7, 2020 at our normal times of 1830-2130hrs in C1A (Orders of Dress Reference)

Other than that the Officers and Staff of 577 RCACS wish you all a merry Christmas and Happy New Years and we will see you all in the new year

Tuesday Dec 17

  • Annual Christmas Party, an evening of fun and bonding for the cadets. There is an optional gift exchange with a $20 limit, it is optional however we do ask that everyone bring a non-perishable food item in. The unit will then take those items and donate them to the less fortunate. The dress for the evening is Christmas semi casual, (civilian attire that is appropriate) and the timings for the evening will be 1830-2100hrs. We will also be having a potluck for the cadets, we ask that the following last names bring these items;
      • A-G: Drinks
      • H-M: Main course
      • N-S: Dessert
      • T-Z: Salad

General Announcements:

  • Bottle Drive on January 4th, 2020 more information coming next week
  • Our training season will be finished on Dec 21 where there will be no training until Jan 7, 2020. If you have questions about this please feel free to ask
  • Jan 18th, 2020 we will be having a Squadron Range Day, this day is designed for cadets to train and learn the ins and outs of the cadet marksmanship program and air rifles. This day is open to all cadets of the unit with priority going to level 1 and 2 cadets. More information and timings for this day will come later but mark the date in your calendars now.
