Announcements: Week of Sept 9, 2025 (Updated 2025/09/09)

Welcome Back Everyone!

Here are your weekly announcements, including some important start-up information for the fall.

Annual Validation Forms
A reminder that all returning cadets must complete their annual validation paperwork before resuming cadet activities. These forms only take a few minutes, but without them, you will not be able to participate in training. This is especially important for anyone requiring an updated Health Questionnaire (DHQ). Please note that DHQs must be submitted and approved before cadets can take part in activities outside of regular Tuesday training nights. To avoid delays, complete your questionnaire as soon as possible so it can be processed quickly.

New Cadet Enrollment
Our enrollment process has been updated. New cadets should now complete the online application first. Supporting documents will still need to be brought in for staff to confirm.

Website Calendar Update
Our website calendar has been refreshed! We’ve switched to an Outlook-based calendar that integrates more effectively with the Cadet365 platform. If you were previously subscribed to our Google calendar, please unsubscribe and add the new Outlook version. The Google calendar will no longer be updated or supported. If you notice any issues with the new calendar, let staff know so we can resolve them.

Spread the Word
As we kick off the new year, please reach out to other cadets and families you know to ensure they’re aware that training has started and that they’re receiving updates and announcements. We also encourage you to invite others to join our program—it’s a great time to get involved! Registration is open until the end of May, and cadets can join anytime on or after their 12th birthday.

They have requested a certain number of cadets so please sign up if interested but if we get a large number of interested cadets we may have to cut down on how many end up attending.

Welcome Back for the 2025-2026 Training Year!

Good day, 577!

It is that time of year again. The 577 RCACS training year for 2025-2026 is about to commence!

Our annual Validation and Registration Night is scheduled for September 2nd, 2025, from 1830 to 2100 hours. During this period, current cadets and their parents are required to attend in order to complete the annual paperwork, update personal information, renew health questionnaires, exchange uniform pieces, and so forth. Once the paperwork has been completed, cadets are free to leave for the evening, as there will be no formal training that night. Senior cadets, including those advancing to Level 4 training, are requested to remain from 1900 to 2030 hours for briefings and to review expectations.

If your cadet is not going to be returning to the squadron this year please bring their uniform back and inform unit staff so we can close out your file.

This evening will also serve as our Recruitment Night, where we will begin accepting new cadets into the program. Please inform family and friends about our exceptional program and encourage them to join.

Our official first night of training will be on September 9th, starting at 1830 hours. Additional activities for the year have been added to our calendar on the website, including confirmed weekend training events. We advise you to review the calendar and mark these dates accordingly. Optional evening activities will be added gradually as they are finalized.

If you have any questions, please contact the squadron staff at 577air@cadets.gc.ca

We are excited to see you all back!

Regards,

577 Staff
